Meddling with the natural order or just helping those calling for help?
Conservation workers from South Luangwa Conservation Society in Zambia pulled the mother and baby free from a muddy lagoon. The pair's herd had tried desperately to rescue them, but there was little they could do. After a great deal of heaving, the calf was released by the team of workers. The team had to deter the youngster from returning to its mother. Then, with the help of a tractor, the mother was finally pulled out and ran off to join her little one and the herd who are waiting for her just beyond the trees. Some would argue that rescuing the mother and baby meddles with the natural order.
